Becoming an adult is a significant shift. For young people who are transitioning to adulthood or are leaving government care, navigating that shift alone can be difficult. We provide steady, practical guidance to help turn uncertainty into a solid plan for the future.

In Campbell River and the Comox Valley, Youth to Adult Transition workers provide one-to-one coaching to help young people develop the practical skills needed to live successfully on their own.

The Program
Assistance for youth who need help developing skills for independent living.
Youth to Adult Transition
Help exploring safe, affordable housing options.
Assist with financial planning, identifying funding supports, and budgeting.
Provide one-to-one coaching to develop essential skills for independent living.
Support developing plans for educational success and employment searches.
Assist with navigating systems, obtaining essential ID, and connecting to community resources.
Work together to identify your goals and create a roadmap for independence.
Locations: Campbell River, Comox Valley (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm).
Eligibility
Youth to Adult Transition is open to:
Youth and young adults ages 16 to 24.
Youth who need support developing skills for independent living.

The program supports youth and young adults between the ages of 16 and 24 who are navigating the shift to independence.
The Youth to Adult Transition Worker can help you to access employment related services and assist you in finding ways to support yourself financially.
The Youth to Adult Transition Worker can help you explore your different living options. If it is determined that moving from your current home is the best possible solution then all avenues are explored, including living with safe and healthy family or friends, finding a roommate, or living in a place on your own.
We provide one-to-one coaching on skills like budgeting, navigating systems, obtaining ID, connecting to services, and other practical skills needed for independent living.
Support continues as long as you need it to develop your skills and reach your goals for independence.
