At The John Howard Society of North Island, we provide services to youth, children, adults, and families across the region. Our programs focus on youth mental health and substance use, family supports, mentoring, youth supportive housing, youth justice, and adult housing supports.

We provide programs and support to help children, youth, adults, and families on the North Island. Some programs have eligibility criteria, but we help people find an option that fits their situation.
Many of our programs can be accessed directly. For certain justice or clinical programs, a referral from probation officers, health professionals, or social workers may be required. If you’re unsure, our staff can guide you through the process.
Most services are free, thanks to government and community funding. In some cases, there may be small costs for housing or materials, but we ensure affordability and transparency.
We operate in several locations on Vancouver Island, including Campbell River, Comox Valley, Port Hardy, Gold River, Nanaimo, Port Alberni, and Duncan.
