When children require intensive mental health support, this program provides community-based intervention. Outreach workers collaborate with families, schools, and therapists to provide practical support that helps manage challenging situations and build functional routines.

In the Comox Valley, Child and Youth Mental Health Outreach provides intensive, community-based support for families whose children have complex mental health needs. This program provides support to help improve family functioning and stabilization, strengthen families’ abilities to parent children with special circumstances, and build understanding of the cause of disruptive behaviours at home, in school, and in the community.

The Program
For families whose children require intensive intervention strategies.
Child & Youth Mental Health Outreach
Collaborative support: Working with families, children, and mental health clinicians.
In-home service: Practical help and parenting support where families need it most.
Positive relationships: Helping children and youth experience positive interactions with their family, their friends, and at school.
Team approach: Developing shared plans that address the specific needs of each family.
Location: Comox Valley (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm).

Families in the Comox Valley referred by CYMH.
Children and youth requiring intensive mental health intervention.
Families needing support implementing therapeutic strategies.
Families needing advocacy and system navigation support.
