I’m not from the Comox Valley.  Can I still go to the program?

Answer

Yes, this service is for any youth that is a resident of BC, and between the ages of 16 to 19 years.

I’m a parent; can I refer my youth to the program?

Answer

A referral can only be made by a substance use clinician. As this is a voluntary program, a counsellor will need to speak to the youth to see if they want to come and make changes. If they are not ready to begin addressing changes to their drug use the counsellor will still try to support you during this difficult time and can suggest other supports for you.

What are the rules that I have to follow?

There are some rules put in place for you to be successful. On the website you will find the Level UP Handbooks. These handbooks provide a lot of information about the program. If you have more questions please ask a program counsellor.

How much does it cost?

How much does it cost?

Answer

The Level UP program is free for youth ages 16 – 19. If your family is able to offer some financial assistance for necessities like a bus pass, or recreational costs, it is appreciated.

Can I see my family and friends?

Answer

On arrival you and your primary counsellor will make up a phone and visitor list of approved people that you may have contact with during your stay. The emphasis is on who will be of the most support for you as you make your desired changes.

Can I go home for visits?

Answer

You will be eligible to apply for a home visit after completing 30 days in program. A “pass plan” is developed by you before you go home to ensure success when returning to your home community.
