Tuesday, December 2 is Giving Tuesday, a day of giving back to your community by supporting the great work being done by local non-profits and community groups. On Giving Tuesday, we are inviting people to make a difference in the lives of local children and youth by donating to The John Howard Society of North Island’s KidStart program!
John Howard KidStart is a volunteer-based mentoring program offered in the Comox Valley and Campbell River that connects positive adult role models with children ages 6-12 for three hours of recreational or cultural activities per week. The program depends entirely on donations, grants, fundraising, and gaming funds to help children and youth in the community. Please give what you can to help KidStart make a difference!
In Courtenay and want your donation to go EXTRA far? Head over to Trail Bicycles at 1170 Cliffe Avenue and pop your donation into the KidStart box at the till. For the sixth year in a row, Trail Bicycles will be participating in Giving Tuesday by matching customer donations to KidStart from November 22-December 6 (up to a sustainable amount). That means if you donate $5, they will donate $5. If you donate $10, they will donate $10, etc. Donations can be made online at www.jhsni.bc.ca, by e-transfer to John Howard’s Director of Finance , or in person at The John Howard Society of North Island, 140 10th Ave. in Campbell River or 575 10th St. in Courtenay.
Charitable tax receipts will be available for online donations and cheques, e-transfers, or cash donations (minimum $20) made to The John Howard Society of North Island. Thank you for taking the time this Giving Tuesday to consider joining in and giving back!
